Each year, June 9 is celebrated as Donald Duck day, to commemorate the animated character’s debut on screen in 1934, when he appeared in Walt Disney’s ‘The Wise Little Hen’.

The character has since been featured in around 150 theatrical films, and is also one of the most published ones in comic books.

Famous for his outfit that included a sailor suit with a cap and a red or black bow tie, Donald Duck is loved by people for his peculiar voice along with his mischievous and braggy, yet adorable personality.

The Walt Disney Company revealed on Instagram that Donald Duck has a middle name, Fauntleroy, which means ‘Child King’ in old French. The popular character also has his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. There are many such facts about Donald Fauntleroy Duck that few people know.

Donald Ducks’ debut film, ‘The Wise Little Hen’, was directed by an animator himself, Wilfred Jackson, who has won multiple academy awards.

Donald Duck was featured in the 50 greatest cartoon characters of all time in TV Guide’s 2002 list.

The voice behind Donald Duck’s character for 50 years, Clarence Nash, wanted to pursue his dream of becoming a doctor, but in a funny statement, said that he became the ‘biggest quack in the world’ instead.
